At Neshama Farms
My concurrent love is fibre. I am a long time spinner (yikes, over 35 years!), natural dyes, weaving - long ago, and now getting back into it, with the purchase of a floor loom. I sell my spun fibres, and intend on holding dye retreats, fibre retreats, etc....I am also in the process of establishing a natural "dye garden" this summer. A fellow "countrywoman" has given me seeds for japanese indigo, which are now in the greenhouse and will plant out this summer for a summer dye session. My dye garden is developing, alongside the Bee Garden. Two hives have just joined the farm and the joy of beekeeping is rapidly growing and competing as a lifelong passion, along with fibre work. |

| Neighbours on the island have cashmere goats, llamas and alpacas so beautiful fibre is never a shortage. My extended family have Jacob sheep and of course, everyone who has every been bitten by the spinning bug, knows that fibre just seems to gravitate to you over the years. Some lovely alpaca is on its way here from the interior of British Columbia, so this winter will be a busy time!
I sell most of my spinning at annual fairs, although my custom orders are now growing and surpassing. You may contact me by email to discuss your spun fibre needs. |
