At Neshama Farms
we are in our third year of growing. I have tested several different types of lavender to assess which does best in this little microclimate. The goal is to have plantings that will be best for culinary and other products. The subtle nuance of citrus notes in lavender, like Kew Red, is a delight to the nose, but not necessarily in a marinated chicken recipe! Provence and Grosso are the leaders so far, but Twickle, Hidcote, Munstead and others are all finding their place. The honey bees love them all. Currently, we sell fresh and dried culinary buds, lavender jellies, lavender infused honey and lavender teas. |

| You should try our "Reserve" line of West coast wild salal and lavender jelly - it is indescribable and sells out very quickly each year. In our other products we make beautiful eye, neck and shoulder sachets that when heated, are a wonderful soothing comfort at the end of a long day. My favourite nourishment is to wrap myself in lots of heated lavender bags, cover myself with a blanket and just sit quietly for a half hour. Rejuvenating! For the laundry there is great laundry bag which you simply place in your dryer and your clothes come out smelling sweetly of lavender. Keeping lavender sachets in your closets help ward off any moths and other insects, while helping to maintain the fresh scent of clean laundry. We are continually in product development and will post all new products as they come along. |
